Fast-growing forage with reliable yields for every grazing season

Italian ryegrass gives you speed and flexibility when you need feed through winter and into spring. Exalta is bred for a 12–18 month production window (and, with sufficient moisture, some stands can push toward two years), making it suitable for use as a short-term pasture, a quality break between crops, or as reliable cover after maize. Establishment is quick, so you’re grazing sooner.

This is Lolium multiflorum, characterized by a lush, dense growth habit that suits both grazing and conserved feed. It’s widely adaptable, performing across a range of soils and climates. You can target pastures, hay, or silage without over-complicating the plan. The combination of fast strike and strong cool-season activity makes it a dependable winter–spring option.

Choose the format to fit your system: Moata (tetraploid) for animal preference and rapid recovery, or Exalta (diploid) for durable, even stands. Seed treating is available, and other species can be supplied on request. Talk to us about the right fit for your paddocks and the season ahead.

Maize followed by Italian ryegrass provides rapid cover and high-quality feed, resetting the paddock for the next rotation. In worn pastures, oversowing lifts winter–spring output. Pair Moata or Exalta with white or red clovers and, where suitable, plantain or chicory—to balance intake, persistence, and seasonal flexibility. We offer seed treatments and customizable mixes.
